Our Process: 12 Steps, One Point of Contact

Most companies in this field ask you to trust them. We would rather show you exactly how the work runs, so you can judge for yourself.

How the 5 phases map to the 12 steps

Phase 1 is steps 1 and 2. Phase 2 is steps 3 to 5. Phase 3 is steps 6 and 7. Phase 4 is steps 8 to 11. Phase 5 is step 12.

Wet or biohazard homes (Levels 4 and 5)

The order changes. Biohazard areas are handed to a partnered or referred specialist first, then we sort and clear. We do not handle biohazard ourselves.

Standards, not a diagnosis

The scales we use help us plan safe, right-sized help. They are not a medical diagnosis.

  • Unmarked trucks and covered carts in shared spaces. Most neighbors assume it is a move.
  • Plain, discreet communication, only the way you choose.
  • Nothing leaves without a decision. Your must-find list is checked first.
  • Cash and valuables are bagged, logged, photographed and handed to the person you choose at the end of each day. Nothing found leaves with our crew.
  • Protective equipment matched to the level of the home.
  • Regulated medical waste is never placed in a dumpster.
  1. Talk and plan

    Compassionate intake

We find out who makes decisions, what must be found, whether utilities are on, whether there are pets, and any deadlines.

  2. Talk and plan

    Photo pre-assessment

If you text photos (2 per room from the doorway), we review them before we visit.

  3. Walkthrough and scope

    Walkthrough

30 to 60 minutes, room by room, with level scoring on published scales.

  4. Walkthrough and scope

    Written scope with decision rules

Categories, staging zones, and what needs your decision before it moves, agreed in writing.

  5. Walkthrough and scope

    Signed paperwork

Scope, price, deposit, payment terms and the hidden-conditions clause, signed before work starts.

  6. Sort

    Discreet setup

Unmarked vehicles where requested, floor and doorway protection, and any specialist pre-work arranged.

  7. Sort

    Room-by-room sort

Keep, donate, recycle, discard, shred. Books, pockets, drawers and mattresses checked for valuables. Important paper reviewed page by page. Your 5 or 6 story items are protected first.

  8. Clear and clean

    Removal by destination

Donations, recycling and shredding each go to the right place. Regulated medical waste never goes in a dumpster.

  9. Clear and clean

    Deep clean

Optional, scoped and priced on its own.

  10. Clear and clean

    Disinfect

Optional, scoped and priced on its own.

  11. Clear and clean

    Deodorize

Optional, scoped and priced on its own.

  12. Final walkthrough

    Verification, sign-off and aftercare

We walk the home with you against the written scope. You get a paperwork pack, donation receipts where issued, a follow-up call, and referrals to organizers, support groups like Buried in Treasures, or senior move managers if wanted.

You do not have to face this alone, and you do not have to decide everything today.

Start with a free, private walkthrough, in person or by video. We listen first.
